| Establishing a Base Tan | 5. Go on the process of tanning every 24-48 hours.
You should pay attention to the condition of your skin after the process of tanning. See the result and decide if you should tan once a day or every day. Look at your skin after the tanning, if it doesn’t get pink within the 24 hours you can safely go on the process of tanning the next day. If you return after the session of tanning and observe such symptoms as the pink color of your skin, dryness, itchiness and a rash, you have overspend the time necessary for safe tanning, that’s why you should stop the process of tanning for some time until your skin feels better.
6. Tanned people should not tan frequently, because it quickens the process of aging.
It is recommended to go 2-3 times per week to a tanning salon to maintain your tan. If you use more powerful beds, you can visit a tanning salon even rarer. It is dangerous for the skin to be tanned daily, because it can fasten your aging process and lead to some skin illnesses. Sometimes people spend too much time tanning, they can relax during the process of tanning and enjoy the spare time. It should be kept in mind that moderation is strongly recommended.
7. It is recommended to wear eye goggles during the process of tanning!
There is a false statement that placing a towel over your face will prevent the UV rays. If you expose your eyes to the UV rays frequently, you may suffer from future problems connected with eyes. To maintain the eyes’ health it is strongly recommended to wear constantly the eye goggles.
8. When you tan all over, it is recommended to hide ‘sensitive’ areas that are usually covered under a bathing suit under a towel.
When you begin the process of tanning, you should hide sensitive areas under a towel for half the process of tanning. Reduce the areas being exposed during tanning process gradually taking away a towel. Take the towel away earlier and earlier until you expose the whole body during tanning session. The towel is used as a filter but it can not hinder all the UV rays.
9. It is recommended to change the position of the body during the tanning process to avoid having creases or pressure tanning lines.
Start the tanning process lying down with both arms extended above your head and legs apart. Then locate your arms down next to your sides but away from your body, raise one knee slightly for a half of the remaining time, and then the other leg do the same thing.
10. Make-up, deodorant, or other perfumes should be avoided before the process of tanning.
Make-up, deodorant, or other perfumes make your skin more sensitive and can cause a bad reaction with your skin that is exposed to UV. People, who used deodorant, are not tanning as well around their armpit, that’s why you should not use deodorant before tanning. Before the process of tanning it is recommended to consult a doctor about your skin type and skin’s possible reaction to the tanning, especially if you suffer from some illnesses.
